The Dogs Basketball Co. develops confident, well-rounded student-athletes through year-round basketball programming that extends beyond the game.
We serve boys and girls ages 12–17 through year-round competition, mentorship, and education, with exposure to college and career programs.
Rooted in diversity and inclusion, we believe each player strengthens Our Pack by bringing their unique background, voice, and ambition to our community.
Meet Derrick and Claire
The Dogs Basketball Co. was founded by Derrick and Claire to bring a new level of dedication, structure, and integrity to youth basketball. We don't separate the "basketball side" from the "business side"—we lead this program as a team. We believe that an elite basketball club requires both well-rounded coaching and professionalism. That’s why you’ll see both of us fully involved in everything from player development to national tournament logistics.
Together, we bring a unique combination of high-level backgrounds to the hardwood. Derrick’s coaching philosophy is shaped by a decade of AAU coaching experience and his time playing and coaching at Lakeland University. Claire's leadership is anchored by her career as a business and estate planning attorney at Athena Legal Solutions and her community advocacy on the PAVE board of directors. Combined, our backgrounds fuel our shared mission to ensure our program is deeply inclusive, welcoming, and organized for every family.
We love the energy, we love the community, and when we are off the clock, we love heading home to relax with our three dogs.
