DOGS TRAIN ALL YEAR ROUND

At The Dogs Basketball Co., we don’t have a "closing time." We don't pack up our bags in August and see you next March.

We are a year-round development and exposure program built for athletes who treat the game with respect and demand more from their training. Our calendar never stops—we simply shift our focus throughout the year to give our athletes a permanent competitive advantage.

THE YEAR-ROUND ROTATION

PRECISION SEASON: IN THE LAB (September – February)

Development requires consistent, year-round focus. The fall and winter months are when our athletes are in the lab sharpening their teeth, mastering their mechanics, and building true basketball IQ. This exclusive, player-only off-season is fully included in your program fee because elite development isn't an extra add-on—it’s our baseline.

  • 2x Per Week Skills Training: High-intensity, coach-led sessions to break down bad habits and rebuild elite, crisp skill sets.

  • 2x Per Month Open Scrimmages: Structured, live-ball environments to test your new tools against top-tier talent.

  • 1x Per Month College & Career Prep: Preparing our athletes to win in life by introducing leadership, career pathways, and collegiate expectations early.

  • Note: Groundwork Season is entirely optional, but built exclusively for rostered Dogs players who want to stay ahead of the curve.

EXPOSURE SEASON: THE SHOWCASE (March – July)

This is where we unleash the work. We transition from the lab to the circuit, taking the groundwork we built in the winter and putting it on display on a national stage.

  • The Launch (March): We kick off the showcase season with an official orientation, a dedicated player Media Day, team goal-setting, and our signature College & Career Fair. Our 2026 orientation event featured:

    • College & Career Insights: Direct access to representatives from Marian University (Men's Basketball Coach), Concordia University (Admissions), Lakeland University (Admissions), and Madison College (Auto & Collision Repair Clinic Faculty) to give our athletes a clear look at both collegiate and diverse career pathways.

    • Featured Lunch Speaker: A keynote presentation from Kathy Vogdes of Your Admissions Advocate, providing our families with elite, insider guidance on navigating the college admissions and recruiting landscape.

  • Spring Grind (March – May): 2x per week team practices.

  • Summer Sprint (June – July): 1x per week team practices to optimize recovery during heavy tournament travel and allow for school ball & other camps, etc.

  • The Tournament Schedule: Mid-major dominance across the Midwest, with our elite 15U–17U squads traveling to national showcase events for maximum exposure (2026 schedule found here).

INTENTIONAL RESET (August)

True pros know how to rest. We close out our year-round cycle with a casual, social end-of-season banquet to celebrate the grind, hand out accolades, and let our bodies recover before the rotation starts all over again.

NATIONALLY SPONSORED

We are proud to be one of 10 programs on the A1CL (boys) A1CGL (girls) premier league. This means we get to perform on the “main stage” at the AND1 Connect Basketball League circuit tournaments across the nation.

THE DOGS STANDARD

  • 1 of 10 in the Nation: We are officially sponsored by the AND1 Connect League as a premier program for both our boys and girls teams. Out of the entire country, only 10 programs hold this distinction—putting Beaver Dam, WI on a circuit with powerhouse clubs from cities like Las Vegas, Chicago, Lexington, and Sacramento.

  • Zero Parent-Coaches: Every member of our coaching staff brings college playing experience to the hardwood. We maintain a strict no-parent-coaching rule to facilitate objective, player-focused coaching.
